Historically, Wolves’ payment processing systems were limited – resulting in the operational team wanting to change service providers. Success on the pitch was a driver to improving the service and speed of transactions for fans coming through the gate, so it was of paramount importance that payments could be taken both securely and quickly in order to maximise revenue.
Firstly, the online ticketing and call centre operations now utilise Verifone’s Payments as a Service platform, which enables Wolves to accept, authorise and settle credit and debit card payments safely and directly, whilst also reducing scope of their PCI DSS environment.
The walk-up ticket offices and club shop have been equipped with Verifone PIN pads all completely integrated with Wolves’ existing till system, bringing rich functionality to the point of sale for card payment acceptance.
Due to the fact that Wolves were the first customer to adopt Payments as a Service, the interface between the club and the solution was written and tailored specifically for the club. The roll-out was completed in just three months from when the contract was signed.
The Verifone solution has increased the speed at which card payments can be made, which is ideal for both fans and staff alike. Additionally, the Wolves’ implementation illustrates how Payments as a Service can streamline a multi-channel payments environment, taking the hassle out of card payments for the merchant.
